Villa Eleni is located just outside the village of Agia Galini in southern Crete, overlooking the Libyan Sea. It is approximately 3km from the harbour area of the town. The villa has 3 double bedrooms (one double, one twin and one with bunk beds) and an open plan lounge/dining/kitchen with external balcony overlooking the sea (see photo below). Villa Eleni is in a quiet location in the hills above the town and is ideally suited to families or those wishing a quiet holiday. Being in the hills at an approximate height of 500ft above sea level means there is always a breeze blowing as well as commanding views, making it a real pleasure to sit outside in the evening and admire the scenery and stars!
The Villa has been constructed to the best of local construction managed by a local estate agent with a local builder (http://www.cretanagora.com) and built to meet all modern regulations. It is easily accessible from the local town and also is near to several of the local beaches (see other pages on this web site). The historical sites are in easy reach (Faestos, Gortys, Agia Triada and Spili). The historical legend of Icarus and Daedalus was based locally, and their statues can be seen in the town. Agia Galini town has numerous tavernas, shops, internet cafes, a medical centre, boat trips and water sports facilities.
We chose this location as it met our needs for a nice place to have a holiday without the demands of the tourist traps on the north side of Crete, and to have less crowded beaches and sites of interest in easy reach. The town is about a 20 minute walk, and there is excellent fairly gentle walks and biking locally. If you are into bird spotting, a resident eagle lives nearby and can be seen and heard each morning. We holiday in this area ourselves and think you will find Villa Eleni welcoming and relaxing!

Please note. The villa is in an exceptionally quiet area with only the eagles and sheep to keep you company. There are other houses in the area but these have never disturbed our guests, and the nearest house is 400m away. This is an ideal location for a safe and quiet family holiday!
